Seven charged over Leeds-Middlesbrough football fan violence

SEVEN people, including a 17-year-old girl, have been charged following a fight between Leeds United and Middlesbrough fans at Leeds Railway Station.

British Transport Police launched an investigation after a brawl at the station on August 18, when United played at home to Wolves and Middlesbrough were away to Barnsley.

During the disorder, which involved glasses and bottles being thrown, several people were injured.

Two men aged 22 and 24, from Bradford, have been charged, along with four men aged 22 to 51 and the 17-year-old girl, who are all from Middlesbrough.

A 22-year-old man from Stockton-on-Tees is the seventh person charged. All seven will appear at Leeds Magistrates’ Court on December 4.

The spokeswoman added: “Three people were arrested directly after the incident. The other four were identified through the circulation of their images to local police forces and the media.”
