Sting in the tail as Leeds look to re-sign Michael Brown

LEEDS United have offered midfielder Michael Brown a new one-year deal - but on significantly reduced terms, it emerged today.

Brown, 35, is said to be mulling over the offer, with a meeting pencilled in with manager Neil Warnock following his return from holiday.

The new deal is said to be significantly less lucrative than before.

Warnock said last month: “I’m sure he’ll have other offers to think about and consider, but he’s good to have around the place and he’s an experienced player.

“He’s probably been one of the best players since I came in and he’s surprised a few people. I am looking to bring players in that area, but I’d like to think he will come back and surprise a few people again next season.”
