Brighton & HA v Barnsley

Team news: The Reds are beset by a litany of injuries, with David Perkins, who picked up a hamstring strain at Molineux in midweek, joining Mido, Toni Silva, Matt Done, Luke Steele, Jim McNulty, Jim O’Brien, Rob Edwards, Paul Digby and Reuben Noble-Lazarus on the sidelines. Ben Alnwick serves the final match of a three-match ban.

Charlton Athletic v Hull City

Team news: Matty Fryatt’s Achilles injury means last season’s top scorer is not expected back until after the international break after being sent to a specialist. Steve Bruce was name the same XI as the midweek loss at Blackburn, meaning a second start for his son Alex in a 3-5-2 formation.

Huddersfield Town v Burnley

Team news: Jordan Rhodes showed no ill-effects from his return to action in midweek after a hamstring problem so will start again up front as Simon Grayson, who is close to agreeing a deal for Ipswich striker James Vaughan, selects from an unchanged squad.

Peterborough United v Leeds United

Team news: Paul Green is out for eight weeks so El-Hadji Diouf could make his first start for Leeds. Lee Peltier should be fit despite suffering a shoulder injury in the midweek defeat at Blackpool. Long-term absentees Leigh Bromby and Davide Somma, who could be back in October.

Sheffield Wednesday v Millwall

Team news: Centre-half Anthony Gardner, who missed the midweek win over Birmingham with a hamstring injury, is a doubt for the Owls, while Chris Lines is still missing. Nejc Pecnik has been called up by Slovenia for World Cup qualifiers against Switzerland and Norway.

League One

Colchester United v Sheffield United

Team news: Blades boss Danny Wilson reports fresh injury problems with Ryan Flynn and Matt Hill back in the reckoning. Nick Montgomery and Richard Cresswell, linked with moves away from the club, will again be left out for financial reasons with the Blades keen to move them on to cut costs.

Doncaster Rovers v Crawley Town

Team news: Dean Saunders is expected to name an unchanged starting XI after claiming two wins from as many games. James Coppinger is in the squad after turning down a move to Barnsley.

League Two

Barnet v York City

Team news: Gary Mills is not expected to make any chances to the side that rescued a point at Morecambe in midweek with Jamie Reed and Oli Johnson the club’s main doubts ahead of the trip to Underhill.

Bradford City v AFC Wimbledon

Team news: Phil Parkinson reported plenty of bumps and bruises in the wake of Tuesday’s win over Fleetwood but no fresh major worries. His biggest decision, therefore, is whether to start Nathan Doyle for a second game in a handful of days with Ricky Ravenhill and Ritchie Jones out.

Chesterfield v Rotherham United

Team news: Johnny Mullins is back to full fitness after suffering an injury that kept him on the bench in Tuesday’s defeat at Northampton. The Millers could face Jack Lester from the start after the veteran striker scored against Rochdale in midweek.
