Team news: Robbie Brady is set for a rapid return to action, just 17 days after hernia surgery. James Chester (hamstring) and Robbie Koren (foot) are still sidelined, but could return before the next international break.

Barnsley v Middlesbrough

Team news: Luke Steele (back) and Peter Ramage (thigh) are definitely ruled out for Barnsley, meaning on-loan goalkeeper Jack Butland will start.

Bolton Wanderers v Sheffield Wednesday

Team news: Chris Kirkland has had a bug this week and missed training on Thursday, so on-loan Damien Martinez is on standby to make his debut. Jose Semedo could start in midfield.

Leeds United v Birmingham City

Team news: El Hadji-Diouf is the major absentee for Leeds. He has been granted compassionate leave following the death of his mentor - and former Senegal coach - Bruno Metsu. Otherwise, Sam Byram could come in at right-back for his second league start of the season.

Leicester City v Huddersfield Town

Team news: Jazz Richards is a major concern for the Terriers after returning from international duty with a calf strain. Mark Robins insisted yesterday that Richards is not yet ruled out but did add: “He is a huge doubt.”

Reading v Doncaster Rovers

Team news: Theo Robinson is in contention after returning to training on Friday following international action with Jamaica with fellow internationals Dean Furman and Bongani Khumalo also available. Marc De Val Fernandez is on the comeback trail from a knee injury and played in the reserves in the week, but is still a few weeks away from first-team contention. Jamie McCombe (back) remains sidelined.

League One

Crawley Town v Bradford City

Team news: Rory McArdle has returned from international duty - and his first competitive start for Northern Ireland - fit and will return to the side. Carl McHugh is also available along with Matthew Bates but Nahki Wells is still not recovered from an ankle injury.

MK Dons v Rotherham United

Team news: Michael O’Connor could return following a groin injury, but Claude Davis and David Worrall are still out. Tom Eaves (stomach ulcer) is a doubt.

Sheffield United v Port Vale

Team news: Winger Ryan Hall plays the final game of his loan spell from Leeds United, while Tony McMahon and Jose Baxter face fitness checks.

Newport County v York City

Team news: Lanre Oyebanjo is available after injury, while internationals Josh Carson, Ryan Brobbel and Sander Puri returned from duty fit. Michael Coulson, though, is still out with a foot injury.
