A tweet boosts Leeds chances of landing Paddy Kenny - but can they afford him?

LEEDS United’s transfer ambitions appeared to take an upturn today after goalkeeping target Paddy Kenny hinted that he had agreed a transfer from Queens Park Rangers.

Halifax-born Kenny tweeted that a move was imminent, as QPR edged closer to signing England international Ben Foster from Birmingham City.

Leeds are among several clubs keeping their eye on Kenny. Manager Neil Warnock has worked with him at QPR and Sheffield United.

Kenny tweeted: “So excited to get my future sorted a new chapter for me and my family.” His tweet was later deleted.

However, it is not clear whether Leeds could afford Kenny, or on whether an injection of cash from new investors is a prerequisite for any new signings.
