Warnock: A rollercoaster ride for Leeds now
Warnock insisted he would “not get diverted” for the Championship run-in, despite a result which halted his side’s recent surge of promising form.
Leeds fought back from an early Dwight Gayle goal to claim a point through Sam Byram’s second-half strike but the loss of two points to a Peterborough side in the relegation zone lengthened the odds on United climbing into the play-off positions.

Hide AdWarnock, whose players are five points short of sixth place after last night’s stalemate at Elland Road, said: “Anything’s bridgeable in this league but we need to take every opportunity. This is an opportunity missed.
“But there’s nine games left and I’ve not got to get diverted from these nine games. It’s going to be a rollercoaster and we’re going to be criticised one week, praised the next and we’ve got to get on with it. We’ve got to be brave. After a frustrating first half we played some good stuff in the second half. There were some decent performances and we tried to win the game. There were 25 shots on goal and we’ve got to take opportunities.”
Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson was frustrated by the scoreline and also by referee Simon Hooper’s refusal to show a red card to Stephen Warnock for a second-half foul on Kane Ferdinand.
Ferguson said: “If he’d done that at the other end of the pitch then he wouldn’t have got out of here alive.”
