Watford 1 Leeds United 1: Snodgrass snatches late Whites point

Leeds United snatched a late equaliser at Watford in the Championship after trailing for most of the game at Vicarage Road.

Leeds captain Jonny Howson misses the trip to Hertfordshire after being referred to a specialist about his knee injury, which was again aggravated during last Saturday’s 2-0 home win over Millwall. Fellow midfielder Michael Brown was named a substitute after suffering an ankle injury against Millwall. Midfielder Lloyd Sam starts, with Mika Vayrynen a substitute.

United were 1-0 down on 28 minutes, Michael Kightly - on loan from Wolverhampton - was on target for Watford.

Watford missed a penalty, when Alex McCarthy saved from Marvin Sordell after Patrick Kisnorbo’s foul - and they were punished when Robert Snodgrass converted a Leeds penalty late on to snatch a point. That spot-kick came after Nyron Nosworthy fouled Vayrynen.
