League One transfer news: Leeds man set for loan, Liverpool bid has knock-on effect

League One could see a number of late deals done today as teams scramble to get their squads in order before the 11pm deadline.

Money has been tight this transfer window due to a combination of Covid-19 and Brexit uncertainty, which has seen few deals at the top level.

As a result, there has been little money trickling down to the leagues below the top flight, though transfers start appearing to be icking up over the last 24 hours.

Liverpool’s shock swoop for Preston North End’s Ben Davies could be one which affects Yorkshire clubs, with Preston now being linked with a Doncaster Rovers defender, which would be a blow for the South Yorkshire club’s hopes of catching Hull City and Lincoln in the promotion race.

Hull, meanwhile, are expecting a queit day but Leeds United youngster Oliver Casey could also be on his way to League One on loan.

Sunderland are unlikely to do much business on incomings today, having completed the signing of Ross Stewart last night from Ross County. His arrival, though, should be the trigger for Sunderland to let Will Grigg leave with a host of League One sides interested in taking him. Could there be a twist though?

Shrewsbury could be one of the busiest League One teams today, as they look to add three or four players to their ranks before the window shuts, similar to Oxford.

It promises to be a busy end to the window, which shuts at 11pm. Here’s a list of some of the big deals that could go through in League One before the deadline.
