Leeds United and Sheffield United handed favourable chance to progress in FA Cup as Rotherham United head to Everton

The Whites, who have not reached the fourth round since 2017, have been drawn away to Crawley, 15th in League Two, whilst the bottom-of-the-Premier League Blades host Bristol Rovers, who are in the League One relegation zone.

Championship side Rotherham United have never met Everton in the FA Cup, but the Toffees won their three League Cup meetings.

Middlesbrough have a difficult draw against Championship promotion rivals Brentford and Huddersfield Town host Plymouth Argyle, mid-table in League One.

Sheffield Wednesday and Barnsley are due to face in-form League Two opposition. Tony Pulis’s Owls face a long trip to Exeter City, fifth in the division, whilst the Reds entertain Tranmere Rovers, unbeaten in the seven matches since the departure of manager Michael Jackson, winning six.

Doncaster Rovers, the lowest-ranked Yorkshire club left in the competition, travel to Blackburn Rovers for the second time this season. They met in the League Cup on the opening weekend, when an 81st-minute penalty handed Blackburn a 3-2 win.

The two lowest-ranked sides, Chorley and Marine, host Wayne Rooney’s Derby County and Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur respectively, and Liverpool are at Aston Villa, who beat them 7-2 in October.

Games are played to a conclusion on the second weekend of January, with extra-time and penalties if required.
