The former Manchester City winger, who has impressed with a number of cameo appearances from the bench, pulled up after seeming to roll his ankle and had to be helped off the pitch.

Leeds are continuing to monitor Rodrigo after he came off with a muscle injury in the 3-1 Premier League victory at Leicester City on Sunday, with the Spanish international being a significant doubt for tomorrow home game against Everton.

Rodrigo described the issue as ‘minor’ on his Instagram account.

Raphinha and Patrick Bamford also suffered knocks in the win against the Foxes, although head coach Marcelo Bielsa has described the issues as ‘less worrying’ than the situation with Rodrigo.

Bielsa said: “The only thing to add is that the problem that Rodrigo has overcome to be available for Wednesday is bigger.

“The problems that Raphinha and Bamford have are more simple.”

Meanwhile, Bielsa has again refused to be drawn on talk regarding Bamford’s credentials for the England national team following his excellent performance on Sunday and his status among the division’s best strikers.

The Argentine added: “This question has only one answer which I have given previously. I don’t want to be seen to be giving suggestions to (Gareth) Southgate, the manager of the England team, over his job.

“I am not at this position to make comparisons. The one I know well is Patrick. My job is to know how good he is.

“So there will be other people who are more capable of making this comparison, the people who are in charge of the outgoings and incoming of the team, the press and the national team.

“What I can comment about is that it is important to look at the type of goals the strikers are scoring.”
