Leeds United transfer news: Whites backed to sign £40m-rated sensation

Leeds United shocked Manchester City with a stunning 2-1 win at the Etihad Stadium last weekend, as star full-back Stuart Dallas scored an added time winner to spark wild scenes on the touchline.

The result was made even more impressive by the fact Leeds played the second half with just ten men, after skipper Liam Cooper was sent off for a badly misjudged challenge just before half-time.

Speaking after the huge win, Whites boss Marcelo Bielsa was quizzed over his distinctive tactical approach, and he revealed: “For three years now we have been trying to play in one way.

“I always think that you have to improve the way that you want to play rather than choose a different way to play. What I would like is to play in the same way every time.”

Meanwhile, down in the Championship, it was a weekend of mixed fortunes for Yorkshire's second-tier side: Barnsley picked up another precious three points to boost their push for the play-offs, Huddersfield Town took a another step towards safety with a point against Rotherham United, while Sheffield Wednesday slumped to a 4-1 defeat away to Queens Park Rangers.

In a busy midweek programme, Sheffield Wednesday play Swansea, Huddersfield take on Bournemouth, while Rotherham are in action twice in the space of just two days, as they look to squeeze in all their games in hand.

Here are today's biggest transfer stories and the latest team news involving Leeds United, Barnsley and a number of other sides from Yorkshire and beyond, as the reaction to the action to last weekend's action continues:
