Leeds United transfer news: Whites offered £14m-rated Newcastle United and Wolves target Andy Delort plus Adama Traore blow

With less than a fortnight to go, time is running out for Leeds United and their Premier League rivals in the January transfer window. That said, things can change very quickly.

As anticipated, it’s been a quiet one at Elland Road with the only movement coming in the form of Jordan Stevens, Ryan Edmondson and Robbie Gotts’ loan exits.

Victor Orta has a number of targets lined up in case circumstances dictate and Leeds need to dip into the market, though will more than likely wait until the summer.

That hasn’t prevented the rumour mill from spinning however, with Montpellier striker Andy Delort the latest player to be linked with a switch to West Yorkshire.

According to Football Insider, Leeds are among the clubs offered the 29-year-old as the financial crisis in French football continues to bite.

Delort has scored nine goals and provided six assists from 18 Ligue 1 matches this season, though his reputation in England needs somewhat repairing.

He was a £3million flop for Wigan Athletic in the Championship six seasons ago, failing to score in 11 appearances.

The Sun reported earlier in the month Wolves and Newcastle were competing for £14million-rated Delort, who is reportedly in favour of returning to the UK and prove his doubters wrong.

An injury to Patrick Bamford, who's scored 10 goals this season, could potentially leave Leeds light in the striking department.

Meanwhile, as per the Daily Mail, Leeds believe Adama Traore is out of their price range after Manchester City and Liverpool joined the race for the 24-year-old speedster.

It is claimed Wolves would demand at least £35.5million for the Spaniard.
