Leeds United transfer news: Done deal as Elland Road exit confirmed, Whites urged to sign 'exciting' star

Leeds United continued their impressive run of results with a 1-1 draw against Liverpool on Monday evening.

The Whites left it late salvage a point against last season’s champions, with Diego Llorente scoring in the 87th minute to cancel out a Sadio Mane opener.

That result leaves Leeds 10th in the table with six games left to play, although they have still played two games more than Aston Villa in 11th.

As for Liverpool, this was their first game since they announced their intention to join a new European Super League, and it's safe to say that Marcelo Bielsa does not approve.

Speaking after the game, he said: "Of course it causes harm to football.

"The stronger teams think that they have the most influence over generating revenue in football.

"If you take into account this logic when the rest of the teams are no longer necessary for them they take privilege in their own interest and forget about the rest.

"Of course there are different teams that are more important than others but they should be conscious that we need each other.

"Because football has always a view that's more commercial now, it's natural that in the world of businesses and looking only at the economic aspect the ones that produce the most demand the majority of it.

"But before or after it was going to happen because football belongs to everybody even if there are owners, the real owners of football are the ones who love the badge.

"Without them football would disappear.”
