Leeds United transfer news: Whites plot summer raid for £31m talent, Player tipped for big impact
Leeds United took another step close to a top half finish with a battling 0-0 draw against bitter rivals Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.
The Whites stifled their high-flying opponents to make it five games unbeaten in the Premier League, and to remain ninth in the table.
Next up for Marcelo Bielsa’s men is a clash against Brighton, and the Argentine was quick to praise his players after this weekend's display.
Speaking after the game, he said: "It was a very demanding game for us.
"For the game not to become unbalanced the team made a massive effort. This effort allowed the game not to become unbalanced. I insist I value a lot everything we did so the game didn't become unbalanced.
"What was moving was the effort the team made. A game like today, if we didn't bring this big energy we wouldn't be able to balance it.
"It's true as the game grew the spaces opened up and there was more clarity for us to go and think we could attack.
"But I think the draw was a sufficient reward given how the game went."
In particular, Kalvin Phillips came in for praise from Sky Sports pundit Stephen Warnock after he kept Man United talisman Bruno Fernandes quiet.
He said: “I wonder if Bruno Fernandes has woke up this morning and Kalvin Phillips is in his bed, because he literally followed him everywhere.
"It was ridiculous.”
