Although the club gave every impression of being relaxed at Bielsa's failure to sign a new contract after his last one expired in the summer, it will nevertheless come as a relief to supporters that he confirmed ahead of Saturday's opening Premier League game at Liverpool that he will remain at Elland Road.

“I will be working at Leeds United next season,” he said succinctly, when asked about his future.

“Everything has been sorted and it's definite I'll be here next season.”

Bielsa has transformed the Whites in his two seasons with the club, bringing a style of play that is the envy of many, and a model for some of the world's most respected coaches. Having seen his team fall short in the Championship play-offs in his maiden campaign, he led them to the title in July.

With the exception of long-term absentee Adam Forshaw, Bielsa has a fully-fit squad to work with ahead of the evening kick-off at the home of last season's Premier League champions.

Despite the exacting standards that have seen numerous signings made to bide their time for debuts under his leadership, he insists he has no concerns over the physical conditioning of Rodrigo and Robin Koch, his two main signings in a summer which has seen a host of teenagers also added to the wider squad.

Striker Rodrigo and centre-back Koch have been on Nations League duty with Spain and Germany respectively, but have both joined their new team-mates this week. More signings are expected, with a reported interest in Croatian centre-back Josko Gvardiol and links to other players, principally left-backs and wingers.

“They're in very good physical condition ahead of the game,” Bielsa said of Rodrigo and Koch. “They are two players who have the correct level to play in the Premier League and if there are going to be any more new signings we will late you know in due time.”

Bielsa also confirmed no additions have been made to a coaching staff which lost Carlos Corberan at the end of July when he left to become head coach of Huddersfield Town.
