Here's how Richard Sutcliffe rated the Leeds performances.

MATCH MARKS

Casilla 2 - Cost Leeds dear with a reckless charge from his own goal that gifted Derby a way back into a tie that had seemed firmly in the home side’s grip. It wasn’t the first time, either, the Spaniard’s judgement has been lacking for some time - Casilla being sent off for hacking Billy Sharp down at Elland Road in March and fortunate not to get his marching orders for bringing Collin Quaner down at Ipswich on the final day.

Ayling 7 - Came so close to finding the net during the second half. Full of energy throughout and unfortunate to end on the losing side, he was one of those who gave everything.

Berardi 3 - Brainless hack at Tom Lawrence, just a few minutes after being booked, meant he blew a hole in United’s hopes of reaching Wembley. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but surely Pontus Jansson should have played against a Rams side featuring two strikers.

Cooper 5 - Collided with Casilla for the first goal but the ‘keeper was more at fault than the United captain. He did, though, give a soft penalty away with a tug of Bennett’s shirt just before the hour.

Dallas 8 - In the right place at the right time for the opener, the Northern ireland international latching on to a rebound to open the scoring. Great play for his second, cutting in off the left flank to fire past Roos.

Phillips 7 - Tireless throughout, even slotting into the defence once Berardi had seen red. The clear Player of the Year at Elland Road and someone who never hides, even when things are going as wrong as they did against the Rams.

Hernandez 6 - Such an important part of Leeds’ attacking threat this season, he was unable to get into his usual rhythm. A few dangerous moments, such as when he drew the foul that saw Malone dismissed. But United needed more.

Shackleton 6 - Nowhere near as influential as he had been in the first leg. Parts of the game passed the teenager by.

Klich 6 - Battled hard until substituted near the end. But unable to make a telling impact on proceedings.

Harrison 6 - Flitted in and out of the game, much as he has done the entire season. The winger clearly has talent but lacks consistency.

Bamford 5 - Little or not threat from the returning striker. Was harshly booked in the first half for simulation but Bamford is now a marked man with referees after his antics against Aston Villa.

Substitutes

Clarke (for Klich 86) - Unable to make a late impact.

Brown (for Bamford 87) - Only his second appearance from the bench and he had one attempt from a free-kick that flew over the bar.
