Palace's ihabe an njury concern too, with their talismanic winger Wilfried Zaha set to miss the trip to Elland Road and perhaps more besides.

Rodrigo went off in the first half of the match against Leicester City after a hyper-extension, and missed the 2-1 defeat to Everton as a result, but the club record signing is close to a return.

“In the game against Leicester City, Rodrigo fell, his legs separated and caused an elongation more than usual and this caused the injury,” explained Bielsa. “I saw a picture of the position in which both his feet ended up and the distance between them was different to what we would expect. And Poveda has an injury to his ankle.”

In both cases, Bielsa explained: “It’s not a question of days, more of weeks.”

Zaha injured his hamstring in Palace's victory over Newcastle United.

“We don’t know how long Wilf’s going to be out,” said manager Roy Hodgson. “He won’t be available this weekend and it could even be much longer than that.

“Wilf's incredible in terms of recovery so I wouldn't want to put a definite timeline on it but it is a muscle strain and they take time to heal.

“There's no doubt we will miss him because he's a very important part of our attacking play.”

Mamadou Sakho, James Tomkins, James McArthur, James McCarthy and Jeffrey Schlupp are also set to miss out for the south London side.
