Three positives from two clubs in EFL's first post-resumption coronavirus test results

The first round of Championship coronavirus results published since Championship games resumed have produced three positives, with two from the same unnamed club

Of 2,858 players and staff across the 24 Championship sides, only three were found to have the virus, and there were no positive tests results from the clubs involved in the League One and Two play-offs.

English football's second tier resumed on Saturday, with Barnsley, Huddersfield Town, Hull City, Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday in action. The last clubs to restart were Cardiff City and Leeds United, who played on the Sunday, with Cardiff winning 2-0.

With no midweek fixtures, the programme resumes at the weekend.

Those who tested positive are self-isolating in accordance with Football League guidelines, and can only return to their respective training grounds after producing a negative result.

Middlesbrough were quick to confirm none of the positive results had come from them.
