Lincoln had a good chance which required Guiseley’s keeper Steve Drench to make an impressive save from James Caton.

Moments later, the home side were ahead when a cross was whipped in by Greg Tempest and Bush scored his first goal of the season.

The hosts were nearly 2-0 up just before half-time, when Drench was forced into making a smart save from Bush.

Guiseley did not give in and did well on the ball but it took time in the second half for them to create a noteworthy chance.

With just under 10 minutes to go, the visitors looked to have grabbed an equaliser when a quickly taken free-kick by Nicky Boshell found Boyes, who forced the ball into the back of the net only to see the effort ruled out due to the forward being narrowly offside.

In stoppage time, Guiseley also thought they had got the leveller when Rob Atkinson was found in the area from a cross and his goalbound header beat the goalkeeper but City defender Lee Beevers was in the right place to clear the ball off the line.

Guiseley kept pressing and, from the last chance of the match, James Hurst hit the side-netting with a good effort to leave the Imps celebrating a double over them.
