Boro keep winning as Dalglish celebrates milestone

Middlesbrough continued their unbeaten start to the season and cruised into the Carling Cup third round courtesy of a comfortable win at Peterborough.

For the third match running at Upton Park, the Hammers let in a late goal and this time Danny Hylton’s strike fired Dean Holdsworth’s Shots to a famous win in the rearranged first-round tie.

Bolton loan signing Tuncay Sanli’s debut proved to be worth the wait as the Turkey international scored one and made the other in the Carling Cup victory over Macclesfield.

The League Two visitors’ early promise had threatened another round two shock but Wanderers’ Premier League quality eventually told.

Liverpool gave Kenny Dalglish his 200th win in charge of the club as Luis Suarez inspired a comfortable Carling Cup second-round victory over Exeter at St James Park.

The Uruguayan grabbed the opener after 23 minutes as he volleyed home, before teeing up Maxi Rodriguez and substitute Andy Carroll to put a seal on the victory after the break.

But there was some concern for Dalglish as the Scot lost Raul Meireles to injury inside the first quarter of the game.
