Manchester United rookie Joe Riley aiming for promotion at Sheffield United
The 20-year-old has signed a loan deal until the end of the season and becomes Chris Wilder’s second January signing following the arrival of Samir Carruthers.
Riley met his new Blades team-mates today and is in contention to make his debut for the League One leaders in Saturday’s visit of Gillingham.

“I’m really looking forward to getting involved and helping the lads to try and get promotion,” Riley said.
“They’ve made a really good start and I want to be a part of helping that carry on.
“The manager (Wilder) has explained what he wants from me and I’ll be doing everything to try and give him and the team that.”

Hide AdCaldwell won the League One title last season with Wigan playing attractive, possession-based football but yesterday he joined a club battling at the other end of the division following just four wins in their last 19 league matches.
“I don’t think I’ll change how I play,” said Caldwell, who was sacked by Wigan in October.
“I believe in players, I give players the freedom to go and play. I have to give the players the belief and confidence to go and express themselves and I saw a lot on Saturday against Coventry that pleased me. I have to try and enhance that.”
