Jonathan Fortune opened the scoring for the Blades after 12 minutes, but they were indebted to Mark Bunn who saved a Sigurdsson penalty after a Chris Morgan foul.

Good work from Kyle Walker saw Richard Cresswell pounce to double the Blades' advantage before the half-time whistle.

Chris Morgan powered home a third goal with 10 minutes remaining.

Barnsley 1 Leicester City 0

Barnsley failed to find the net in the first 45 minutes, the two sides locked in a stalemate.

Hugo Colace finally broke the deadlock on 77 minutes to break Leicester's resistance.

Doncaster Rovers 1 Middlesbrough 4

Rovers were behind after half an hour as Adam Johnson scored his 11th goal of the season.

Jonathan Franks doubled the visitors' advantage on the stroke of half-time after some impressive wing play from Johnson.

Substitute Leroy Lita headed home on 66 minutes for Boro's third, before Jordan Mutch grabbed a 83rd minute consolation. Johnson's second of the night rounded off the scoring.

League One

Swindon Town 3 Leeds United 0

United were stunned as Charlie Austin opened the scoring on 13 minutes to give Swindon a 1-0 interval lead.

Things got worse for United when Billy Painter headed home on the hour mark, before firing home a penalty three minutes later after Jonny Howson felled the Swindon striker.

League Two

Chesterfield 0 Rotherham United 1

Chances were at a premium in the first 45 minutes, the game goalless at half-time.

And the Millers left it late as Tom Pope grabbed a late winner.

York City 1 Newport 0

No goals in the first 45 minutes, but substitute Richard Pacquette grabbed a late winner.
