Mexican pair in at the double

WORLD CUP: Manchester United-bound striker Javier Hernandez and Adolfo Bautista each netted twice as Mexico completed their World Cup preparations with a handsome 5-1 win over Gambia in Bayreuth, Germany.

Having lost successive friendlies to England and Holland, Mexico needed a morale-boosting result and delivered in emphatic fashion.

Gambia kept the deficit to 1-0 at half-time, Hernandez's 18th-minute opener the only goal, but there was a rush of activity in the second period.

Ebrima Bohna made it 3-1 after Hernandez's second and Bautista's first had increased Mexico's advantage.

Alberton Medina wrapped things up nine minutes from time, shortly after Bautista completed his brace.
