Burnley v Middlesbrough: Emnes given Boro challenge by Mowbray

MIDDLESBROUGH’s Marvin Emnes has been challenged to keep up his form – which has seen him score seven goals in seven games at the start of the season – after signing a new four-year deal.

“I’m delighted he’s committed his future here for another four years and hopefully we’ll have some good times around the corner,” said manager Tony Mowbray. “He’s started the season exceptionally well and has taken on the mantle of scoring goals after the loss of a couple of strikers in the summer.”

Striker Scott McDonald could return to the squad at Burnley following a hamstring problem.

Burnley boss Eddie Howe will assess the fitness of David Edgar, who played for Canada in Puerto Rico on Tuesday night.

Midfielder Marvin Bartley is available again after a three-match ban, but Martin Paterson, Michael Duff and Danny Ings are out injured.
