Fan’s Review of 2019-20 Season – Middlesbrough

THE season may yet to be completed but, given the enforced break due to the coronavirus pandemic, we thought we’d ask one Middlesbrough fan to give their verdict on the campaign so far.

Graeme Bandeira, 45, from Harrogate, has his say below. Scroll through and see if you agree, leaving your own thoughts in the comments section at the bottom.

How would you assess your season so far? A massive uphill struggle. Jonathan Woodgate promised fast, free-flowing football but maybe tried too soon. Spirit remains strong and we have the players.

Player of the season? Hayden Coulson.

Which game have you enjoyed most? The season-opener at Luton, a 3-3 draw.

Biggest disappointment? Lack of desire and attacking intent in too many games.

What mark would you give the manager out of ten? Six. Room for improvement.

How important is it that we finish the season? Imperative.

If the season gets started again, what is your hope for your team? Finish with a flourish and a settled side.

What needs to change for next season? Another injection of youth. Too many players running down contracts.
