Middlesbrough v Huddersfield Town: Robins aware Boro retain the potential to wound Terriers

Huddersfield Town manager Mark Robins is not fooled into thinking tonight’s trip to face Middlesbrough at the Riverside is an easy task.

Tony Mowbray’s side have yet to win at home this season, but Robins believes Boro have got plenty of attacking threats which can potentially hurt his Terriers side.

Town have not lost in their last four Championship games – since a 2-1 defeat at Barnsley in August – and only James Vaughan’s missed penalty prevented them picking up all three points against Blackpool on Friday night.

“They have got good players, having recruited well during the summer,” said Robins.

“They have plenty of pace and some good footballers in midfield, having bought in the likes of Jacob Butterfield and Dean Whitehead.

“He (Tony Mowbray) has a number of options to choose from, but it is about us and how we perform.

“We will have to be at our best because they are a decent side and this is the Championship.

“It is a game that we are looking forward to. There were plenty of things regarding our second-half performance against Blackpool to be positive about and even a few things from the first.

“The players are bright, breezy and bubbly and looking ahead to the game. It is another opportunity for us to play at a big stadium against a good Championship team.”

Robins must decide whether to give exciting teenager Duane Holmes a starting role after he came on as a substitute against Blackpool to create Vaughan’s goal.

Boro defender Ben Gibson is looking for a six-point return from Riverside games against Huddersfield and Yeovil.

“Two wins gives you the momentum to kick on and if you go on a good run in this league you can be right up there very quickly,” he said. “Two home games, we want six points, simple as.”

Boro will be missing Jonathan Woodgate (calf) and Marvin Emnes (groin), while Emmanuel Ledesma is banned.
