Millers will not bid for Cummings says boss Stubbs

ROTHERHAM UNITED manager Alan Stubbs has ended speculation that he could raid old club Hibernian for striker Jason Cummings - and says that the Millers will not be bidding for the player.

Reports in Scotland had suggested that the Millers had made contact with Hibs this week about signing Cummings, 20, who hit 25 goals for the Hibees under Stubbs last term.

But Stubbs, who had stressed when he took the Millers job that he would not be going back to Easter Road to bring in new signings as he believed it to be morally wrong, has insisted that his stance has not changed.

Stubbs said: “I have said all along that I wasn’t going to go back and I am not about to change my mind right now.

“I know we have been linked with him over the past few days, but it is certainly not coming from us.”

Former Hull City and Newcastle United player Ryan Taylor is currently training with the Millers and will be part of the squad who go to Poland for a pre-season training camp next week.
