MK Dons v Huddersfield: Nahki Wells working hard to move up Town list

FRESH from moving into Huddersfield Town's list of all-time top 50 goalscorers, Nahki Wells's worth ethic has been praised by head coach David Wagner.

The Bermuda international took his tally for the season to 13 with the only goal of the game against Wolves on Saturday.

It was his 34th goal since joining from Bradford City a little over two years ago and Wagner believes Wells, with three goals in four games, is reaping the rewards of his industrious effort.

“In our team, you get opportunities to score,” said the German.

“I said to Nahki one or two weeks after I arrived that I liked his attitude defensively and I said that if he continued to do that he will get chances by being our first line of defence.”

Wells and his team-mates head to Milton Keynes Dons tonight looking to claim a third straight win.

The last time Huddersfield managed that feat was November, 2013, under Mark Robins.

Wagner added: “We have only just begun. Three months in a long-term project is nothing, but we can take confidence from the start.

“In the last two games, we have done the easy things well and we must do that consistently – especially in defence.”

Wagner plans to rotate his squad today as Town face a second outing in four days. Sean Scannell and Emyr Huws are injured.
