The Owls, who have signed young Tottenham midfielder Charlie Hayford, 19, on a one-year deal, are now making concerted moves in the transfer market, having signed Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher and reportedly tabling an £11.5m bid for Fulham’s ex-Leeds United marksman Ross McCormack, which was rejected by the Cottagers.

Oliveira, 24, has previously been on loan at Swansea City and later netted nine goals in a loan spell at Nottingham Forest last term, before a groin injury ended his hopes of earning a spot in Portugal’s Euro 2016 squad.

Tottenham midfielder Ryam Mason remains high on Hull City’s wanted list, with the Tigers tipped to make a £10m bid.

Mason, who spent a loan spell earlier in his career at Doncaster Rovers, has dropped further down the pecking order at White Hart Lane following the signing of Victor Wanyama and could now link up again with ex-Spurs colleagues Tom Huddlestone and Jake Livermore.

Huddersfield Town is eyeing a move for Chelsea starlet Kasey Palmer - who impressed for the Blues’ youth team and made the first-team bench last season.

Doncaster Rovers striker Curtis Main is close to joining Portsmouth.

Main has a year left on his agreement at the Keepmoat Stadium, but has been told he isn’t wanted by Darren Ferguson.

The 24-year-old made 14 appearances at Donny last term, before he was sent out on loan to Oldham, contributing to Oldham’s survival at the expense of relegated Rovers.
