Speaking ahead of today's trip to Crystal Palace, Morgan, 32, said: "I have spoken to the manager and, ideally, I want to sit down in the summer and sort something for two or three years.

"I still feel I have got a lot to offer and the gaffer has told me that he would love to keep me. The club decided to take up my option early and that is fantastic but I would love to finish my career here.

"This is probably my last chance to get a contract at a club of this stature and I want to be a part of getting this club back in the Premier League."
