Powell said: “Having Sean commit his future to Huddersfield Town should be a massive boost to everyone connected to the Club.

“Since my arrival here, Sean is the player that I’ve been asked about more than any other; by members of the media and Huddersfield Town fans alike.

People consistently told me that he was somewhat of an enigma; an abundantly talented individual who had not always shown enough consistency.

“However, I have been delighted with everything about Sean’s game during my early time as Manager. He’s a fantastic character who cares deeply about his football and has been very willing to put in the hard work on the training pitch and during matches to improve. It is also clear to me that Sean enjoys this Club and life in Yorkshire.”

The former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international is the second Town winger to extend his contract this month, after Harry Bunn.
