North Ferriby lose to Wrexham, plus mixed fortunes for York City and Guiseley in FA Trophy

Izale McLeod’s first Wrexham goal gave the hosts a much needed victory over North Ferriby United in the National League.

McLeod drilled home after 28 minutes to lift Wrexham up to 14th in the National League and 13 points clear of the relegation zone, where the visitors remain, second from bottom in 23rd.

Fellow new signing Ntumba Massanka missed a chance after the interval that would have eased nerves for the hosts.

In the FA Trophy, York City beat Harlow Town 2-1 thanks to goals from Amari Morgan-Smith and Simon Heslop.

But it was a bad afternoon for Guiseley, who slumped to a 6-1 defeat at Nuneaton Town.
