Norwich City 2 Barnsley 1: Robins unhappy at Canaries' equaliser

REDS chief Mark Robins may make another move into the transfer market after defeat to one of his former clubs.

Robins has signed Scottish international striker Garry O'Connor, 27, on an emergency loan from Premier League side Birmingham City.

But he may be tempted to add a tough-tackling midfield man after believing his side are too soft on their travels.

Barnsley took the lead against the run of play in first-half stoppage time when summer signing Jay McEveley headed in Kieran Trippier's free-kick.

But the 63rd-minute introduction of substitute Anthony McNamee turned the game in Norwich's favour.

Within eight minutes, his cross was turned into his own net by Stephen Foster before the winger played his part in the winner 10 minutes from time.

His delivery caused havoc in the Barnsley defence before Adam Drury found Martin, who made no mistake from 12 yards.

Robins was unhappy at the circumstances surrounding Norwich's equaliser.

He said: "It's extremely frustrating because their equaliser came when Jason Shackell was off the pitch. The referee told him he had to go off to get treatment for an injury, when he wanted to stay on because we had a free-kick to defend.

"It was an absolutely pivotal moment in the game because before that I thought we looked comfortable and were controlling the game.

"It's tough on Jason because his wife went into labour today and he's been up at the hospital in Norwich this morning. Maybe that's affected his energy levels.

"Having said that we should still have organised ourselves better to deal with his absence but it was still very annoying.

"I would say that we are sometimes a little bit soft, especially away and that's something I'll need to look at. I think we need a bit more steel in the side and if I need to go out and bring someone in to provide that I'll do it."
