Norwich City v Hull City: Defence needs strengthening for Hull's trip

ANTHONY GERRARD insists Hull City can transfer their miserly home defensive record to away games and end the club's miserable run on the road.

The Tigers have gone 30 games without registering a victory away from home, a shocking run of form that played a major part in the club being relegated from the Premier League last season.

This time around, all four away games have ended in defeat with Matt Duke conceding 11 goals – including two in Hull's Carling Cup exit to League One Brentford last month. In contrast, the Hull defence is yet to be breached at the KC Stadium.

Gerrard, on loan from Cardiff City, said: "Defensively, we looked pretty solid last week and we want that form to continue. But it is up to us to go to Norwich and get into winning ways."

Gerrard will again line up in the heart of defence with fellow loanee Daniel Ayala as Hull look to claim a first win on the road since Manucho netted the only goal at Fulham in March, 2009.
