Leeds rake in almost six times as many subscribers as their nearest League One rivals Southampton – and the club has a stronger virtual fan-base than numerous Premier League clubs including Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Newcastle. Leeds United even have a higher virtual fan-base than national teams; Scotland, Wales and Ireland.

The latest findings also reveal that goal subscriptions increased by 11% since last season, with an upsurge of 19% from Leeds United fans.

Steve Wallage, Head of Sport Partnerships and Services for Orange UK, said: "Mobile alerts are a real barometer of fans' passions and reflect their enthusiasm for receiving team updates while on the move. Every goal scored puts fans' high hopes on the line and tension levels can quickly soar."
