Opportunity knocks at Leeds United for midfielder Faye

LEEDS United have offered Senegalese international Amdy Faye an opportunity to secure a move to Elland Road.

The former Portsmouth and Newcastle United midfielder will play for Leeds tonight in a reserve game at Grimsby Town watched by manager Simon Grayson.

Now 33, Faye, who also played for Charlton Athletic and Rangers, has been without a club since his release by Stoke City this summer.

He won 31 caps for his country and played in the 2002 World Cup.

"Amdy trained with us at the back end of last week and again on Monday," said Grayson. "He's got plenty of good experience and he's done okay. He'll play on Tuesday and we'll have a look at his fitness levels."
