Peterborough 0 Bradford City 4: James Hanson is milestone hero as City turn on the style

Bradford City manager Phil Parkinson praised his Bantams after a magnificent win.

James Hanson’s brace plus goals from Kyel Reid and Steven Davies gave the visitors their first win at the ABAX Stadium.

“It was a terrific response from the lads after last weekend (the defeat against Burton). They implemented everything we had asked them to do on the training ground,” said a delighted Parkinson.

“The discipline and team work-ethic was excellent, and our quality on the ball in possession was excellent – a big improvement on last Saturday.”

Hanson opened the scoring on the stroke of the break in his 300th appearance for the club as he headed home Reid’s cross into the bottom corner.

Reid doubled the lead 11 minutes into the second half, burying a left-footed effort from the edge of the area past Ben Alnwick before Hanson headed his ninth of the season in off a post, following James Meredith’s whipped in cross.

Substitute Davies completed the rout 13 minutes from time. The former Sheffield United loanee diverted Tony McMahon’s powerful strike past a helpless Alnwick.

Parkinson, whose side are six points off the play-off spots, added: “You could make a case for a lot of them to be man of the match. Big James was outstanding and was a threat all afternoon; Reidy produced probably his best performance of the season, while Ben (Williams) and all of the back four were brilliant as well.”
