Hull City and Middlesbrough have been the White Rose’s two representatives this season, both struggling, both changing their managers and both unsure of where their futures lie - at least in a footballing sense.

Middlesbrough’s anticipated relegation seems certain to be confirmed on Monday against league leaders Chelsea, but Hull – under Portuguese Marco Silva – are making a strong case for beating the drop.

With three games to go, they are locked in what seems to be just a two-horse race with Swansea to fill that third and final relegation spot.
