Reading 3-0 Barnsley: Robins demands more from players after loss

Furious Barnsley boss Mark Robins hit out at his side after a late collapse saw them lose 3-0 to 10-man Reading.

After dominating the game without reward, Reading found themselves a man light midway through the second half when Zurab Khizanishvili was sent off.

However, the Tykes failed to make use of their advantage as Jimmy Kebe capped a sensational individual performance with a 78th-minute goal, before Ian Harte and Hal Robson-Kanu topped the result off with late strikes.

"That was a shocking performance. We got exactly what we deserved and that was nothing," said Robins. "Believe it or not we had a game plan but you couldn't tell. The players either don't listen or don't take any notice.

"At the end of the day they haven't carried out their duties and we are still winless away from home. We looked nervy and edgy and kept giving ball away.

"We were trying to double up on Kebe and (Jobi) McAnuff but they kept getting the ball in the box and when they did we were all over the place.

"We don't get our wingers in those positions. We never get the cross in. The opening goal came from a great ball into the penalty area and was a great goal from their point of view.

"Reading looked hungry and wanted to win the ball, but every single aspect of that was disappointing from our point of view. Away from home there's something that's not quite right yet but it's not formation or the personnel on the field."
