Reading v Hull City: Stewart's key role in switch by Evans

corry EVANS has revealed how a glowing reference from Manchester United team-mate Cameron Stewart helped convince him to join Hull City.

The 20-year-old Northern Ireland international last week joined the Tigers on loan for the rest of the season with a view to agreeing a permanent switch from Old Trafford in the summer.

Evans, one of three United players to move to the KC Stadium this term along with Stewart and James Chester, was confined to the bench in the derby win over Barnsley due to signing so late but could feature today against fellow play-off hopefuls Reading.

He said: "Cameron has been here a while now but every time he came back across to Manchester he was telling all of the lads how great things were at Hull City.

"He was getting first-team football and felt the club was great. After hearing all the stories, I was really eager to come here when the chance came along."

Hull, who are 12th in the table, travel to Reading looking to extend a run of just one defeat in 11 Championship outings.
