And the Millers got off to the perfect start when Danny Ward headed in Anthony Forde’s corner.

It was soon 2-0 when Will Vaulks - one of several players making their debuts - hammered home from 25 yards.

But Rotherham were reminded this game was still very much alive when a mix-up in defence allowed George Saville to chase a lost cause.

The Wolves midfielder ran behind the home defence, before rounding Lee Camp and slotting home from a tight angle to head into the break at 2-1.

Dominic Iorfa was handed a straight red card to put Wolves down to 10 men, but the numerical advantage failed to stop the visitors.

Jon Dadi Bodvarsson swept into the box and hammered home into Camp’s far right-hand side of the net to make it 2-2.
