Rotherham United name Alan Stubbs as new manager

The Millers had been locked in discussions with SPL outfit Hibernian all day and have now finalised a deal.

Easter Road assistant John Doolan will be Stubbs’ number two.

Rotherham will pay Hibs a compensation fee of around £120,000 for the services of the 44-year-old, who recently led the Edinburgh outfit to Scottish Cup glory.

Stubbs will be unveiled to the press at around midday tomorrow.

Millers chairman Tony Stewart said: “You dot the i’s and cross the t’s and we’ve done it, that’s the main thing.

“We are obviously pleased and think we have got a good catch. He wanted it and we wanted it and it’s a lovely marriage.”
