Rotherham United v Northampton Town - League Two - Stewart urges patience at Millers

ROTHERHAM United chairman Tony Stewart has urged supporters to show unity as pressure mounts on manager Ronnie Moore.

The Millers have suffered four consecutive defeats ahead of tonight's home game against Northampton Town and lie six points adrift of the top three.

To make matters worse, there is now a growing danger that fifth-placed Millers – who have spent the majority of the season in the top three – could even miss out on the play-offs.

Stewart, who re-appointed Moore in September after the departure of manager Mark Robins, said: "We all know that the current squad are capable of performing to a level that will match or beat any side in League Two so let's encourage the team and the manager to excel in this time of need and high expectations."

If the Millers lose tonight, they could drop as low as ninth in the table, depending on other results.

Meanwhile, plans for the club's new stadium on Don Street have gone on public display at the town's central library.
