Branston in a pickle over run of appearances

GUY Branston returns to action for Rotherham United after serving a three-game ban – but will then have to sit out the next two games.

Branston, on loan from Bradford City until the New Year, was sent off in his first game against Bristol Rovers.

He is available to face Aldershot this afternoon but is not allowed to play in the FA Cup next weekend or against Bradford seven days later under the terms of the loan deal.

Defending his red card, Branston said: “There’s no malice in it. When I was younger I built a reputation through being stupid but I’m getting older now and I think that red at Bristol was my first in about two years. Anyone who has met me in the street knows it’s just a desire to do well for myself, it’s not nastiness.”

The Millers have appointed Steve Lewis as Head of Commercial following Steve Coakley’s departure to Sheffield United.

Community director Brian Chapple has stepped down from his post due to health issues.
