Chesterfield v Rotherham United: Millers need to get on the front foot to cure away-day blues concedes Moore

FORGET the perfect 10: Rotherham United will tonight be desperate to prevent their unwanted record of falling behind in consecutive away games from reaching double figures.

The Millers travel to Chesterfield’s new B2net Stadium for a sell-out contest against the League Two leaders that is being shown live on Sky.

After failing to win any of their last four games, Ronnie Moore’s side are keen to claim a victory that would, due to all their rivals playing tomorrow, be enough to leave United just one point adrift of the top three.

To do so, Rotherham will have to cut out the costly habit of allowing the opposition to steal a march on them – which began on January 11 at Stockport.

It is a trait that has seriously undermined the South Yorkshire club’s promotion hopes with the Millers having gone on to win just one and draw two of those nine away games.

Manager Moore said: “We have conceded the first goal in all of them and it would be nice to be on the front foot for a change.”

Tonight’s game seems set to provide Chesterfield with their largest crowd at the B2net Stadium after the final few tickets were snapped up earlier this week.

The Spireites, who moved from Saltergate last summer, are expecting their first five-figure crowd since 10,362 watched Liverpool triumph 4-1 at Saltergate in a League Cup tie on October 6, 1992.

Watford’s Liam Henderson will remain on loan with Rotherham until the end of the season. A day earlier Callum Kennedy agreed to extend his stay from Swindon.

Last six games: Chesterfield WLWWWL, Rotherham United WWDDLD.

Last time: Chesterfield 0 Rotherham United 1; January 26, 2009; League Two.

Referee: A D’Urso (Essex).
