Managerless Rotherham United crashed to defeat at big-spending Crawley in League Two.
Millers striker Lewis Grabban, a transfer target for Crawley earlier in the season, was named a substitute after illness forced his absence in midweek. Striker Alex Ravell played despite picking up a knock against Macclesfield Town.
The Millers went behind just before half-time, Clarke netting on 43 minutes for Crawley from close range after good work from Gary Alexander.
And it was the former Brentford striker who doubled the hosts’ lead from the penalty spots on 53 minutes.
Pablo Mills added a third goal on 67 minutes to complete Rotherham’s misery.
