The Norwich City striker is recuperating at his parent club after suffering a hairline fracture of his heel during the October international break and is making considerable progress.

The ex-Leeds United forward is technically contracted on loan at the Millers until the first week in January, and if he is fully fit shortly, he could yet feature for the club.

Evans said: “He is contractually with us until the first week in January. So the agreement when he went back to Norwich for his treatment and rehabilitation - and the reason he does is the facilities and medical help they can give him - is that we have agreed to speak in the first (full) week in December, which will be next week.

“We will speak to the medical team first at Norwich to see whether he can get the green light and if they do, I can assure people he will be back.”

Evans confirmed that Kirk Broadfoot has suffered a crack to his collarbone and is out for three weeks.

But Lee Frecklington, Joe Sharz, Richard Wood and Frazer Richardson are available ahead of Saturday’s trip to Cardiff City.
