Leeds United still in relegation trouble, says Rotherham boss Evans

Rotherham United manager Steve Evans believes the relegation dogfight goes all the way up to Leeds United in 12th, regardless of the protestations from Elland Road.

A third win in four for Leeds over Millwall on Saturday moved them up to 38 points, five points above Rotherham in 20th and a further three ahead of the Lions who occupy the final relegation place in the second tier.

Alex Mowatt said after the game that the Whites should be looking up not down.

But, speaking ahead of Rotherham’s Championship game with Derby County on Tuesday night, Evans said that with 38 points to their name, Leeds and anyone below them might still be sucked into what is an ever-changing dogfight.

“You worry about everyone,” said Evans. “That same question could be asked of Neil Redfearn. I keep hearing that they’re mid-table but if we win tomorrow’s there’s two points difference.

“It goes all the way up to inside the top half that’s involved in this.

“I don’t think anyone on 38 points or below is not part of the battle.”
