ROTHERHAM United manager Andy Scott wants midfield man Sam Wood to join the club on a permanent basis from Brentford.
Wood, 25, has impressed since joining the Millers on loan last month but his current deal expires on January 9.
“Everyone can see what he brings to the team and his versatility has been very important,” said Scott. “I knew exactly what he could do and he is the type of player I want at this club.”
Scott is also planning to sign other players in the New Year transfer window who will further bolster the club’s promotion push.
“I feel we are only a couple of players away from being a real force in this league,” he said. “If we can keep going between now and January and get into the play-off picture, it will be a good position to set up a finish to the season.”
The Millers, who host AFC Wimbledon, have called a press conference for Monday lunchtime to unveil the name of the club’s new stadium.
