Morecambe v Rotherham United: Proud father Revell back to boost Millers

ROTHERHAM United striker Alex Revell will return to action against Morecambe tonight after attending the birth of his son.

Revell missed the weekend draw against Shrewsbury Town because his wife had gone into labour just hours before the game.

Manager Andy Scott said: “It was difficult losing Alex on the morning of the game, especially after all the work we had done during the week. But having a chid and being there for the birth is an amazing experience which, hopefully, will give him a lift coming back in.”

Although Scott felt his side should have beaten Shrewsbury last weekend, the result ended a run of five consecutive defeats. Chairman Tony Stewart is still fully supportive of Scott who was appointed towards the end of last season.

“This is not a quick fix, it is a long fix,” said Stewart, who will be giving supporters an update on progress of the club’s new stadium today.

“Let’s not forget that it is a new team and it’s still developing. I would be amazed if the efforts going in don’t get results.”

Defender Nick Fenton will line up against the Millers tonight for the first time since being released by Scott last summer.

Now a key figure in the Morecambe defence, Fenton said: “I didn’t want to leave Rotherham and it was a surprise when I was let go. But a new manager came in and there were a few things he wanted to change and that’s his prerogative.”

Former Millers winger Kevin Ellison also joined Morecambe this summer but has been ruled out for several weeks by a knee injury.

Last six games: Morecambe LDDLDW, Millers LLLLLD.
